Its body.
Silhoutted against the backdrop of the gibbous moon, glinting like a black body sucking in moonlight, its chiseled shape was outlined in a brilliant luminiscent blue.
And then it leaped.
My warrior instincts picked up a disturbance in the calm. I rose prepared to meet the attacker with a combination of martial arts that i had learnt. Powerfully rooted Centre of gravity, Disciplined stance, clear deep breathing and my calm mind. I could fight off any attacker.
Till the beast jumped upon him. They say, a creature born to kill, doesnt second guess its results.
I realized once it was upon me. My rigorous training of decades rushed out of my consciousness before my breath. The darkness I was hiding in, was the bright light compared to what was enveloping me. I must’ve fallen, been crushed, and suffered haemorrhages in every part of my body.
It didnt need any effort to take him out. It was like descending stairs. It calmly walked away.
My mangled body, life force sucked out of it, was crumpled paper in the dustbin of the worlds.
It looked back one last time. “We shall meet again” it said in a rumble, much like thunder, much like rubbing sandpaper on sandstone.
I didnt reply. I couldnt reply. My jaws were pulp. My tongue was, exactly, was. My body was past tense. History, as they say.
It walked away. The last relic in this evolving world. The harbringer of terror. An unjust distribution of power and ruthlessness. A nearby portal opened up, and the beast returned.
It had me again. In spite of my confidence, the beast got me again. I opened up my portal and returned home. Home sweet home, how I long to be back. There is no terror back home, just the comforting sweet air and languid peace all around.
The beast came through the portal and landed on my feet with a flourish. Like it was almost pre destined to land there.
“You’re Late. Im quicker than you in this world. I do, you follow. You cant escape that. I win. Every single time.
My only regret is, I cant give you a finger, without you giving one back to me”
